FAQs for Great Basin Geek Con Vendors
What is Great Basin Geek Con? GBGCon 2016 is an event celebrating all forms of fandom. Essentially, we are all geeks who enjoy obsessing over our favorite comics, games, movies, books, etc. etc. etc… Our demographic can be seen at ComicCon, GenCon, DragonCon, PAC, SteamCon, LosCon, WorldCon, GalifreyOne and a whole slew of different conventions that celebrate our interests within Sci-Fi/Fantasy fandom. We even enjoy having History geeks around.
While not all of our activities for this Con are geared towards family, we do try to maintain a family friendly atmosphere.
How many attendees do you expect? Millions! Well, OK, not millions. After the rousing success of last year, we had to move into a space more appropriate for a convention. Because we know that a move can impact attendance, even though we had close 1,500 attendees in our first year, we are hoping for 300-600 attendees.
I don’t understand the fees, what is what?
Our space fee is $60.00 for one 8’x8′ space; $75 for a 10’x10′ space; and $90 for a 10’x12′ space. If you have a 6’ table and can show a Reno Business License that is all you will need to pay for the weekend. If you need us to provide a table, we can at a cost of $10 per table. If you don’t have a Business permit for Reno, we will cover that for $15.
What comes with my vendor space? With your vendor space you get 8-12 feet of frontage, with a minimum of 4-5 feet behind a standard six foot table (not included) and our undying gratitude. We will, also, list your business on our website, so our patrons will know that your business will be there.
What if I want more of an advertising presence? We would love to have you as a sponsor! That cost would be above and beyond your space fee, however if you wish to donate a significant amount to help with the running of GBGCon, we can probably negotiate something.
